John Carrie! Yes, like the 2004 Democratic presidential candidate, John Kerry, only this guy isn't a loser. The four-man folk/rock band, John Carrie and Moor Green, is playing shows at local venues in The Netherlands (mainly in Amsterdam) in support of its debut album Folk Is Not Happy. For those of you who, like me, are not fluent in Dutch...don't worry. They sing in English, so you people back in the states will be able to understand, as well. Two songs are available for download at myspace.com/thejohncarrieband, but the live version of "The Best" doesn't have the best sound quality. I recommend this band to people who are looking for something a little less "mainstream."
