Rock Goes Professional
Lucky Boys Confusion drummer, Ryan Fergus, is looking for work as a journalist. He started his own personal blog with examples of his work, in order to attract potential employers. He does not seem to be leaving behind any of his musical projects (Luckys Boys Confusion, Adios Motherfuckers), but is obviously considering other career paths, as well. Check out his blog here!
His About Me section says "I'm actively looking for a serious career in either journalism, advertising or entertainment, where I can jump right in and - for all intensive purposes - kick some ass." KICK SOME ASS? I'm sure you will Ryan, but I don't think that's going to attract any professional employers to you.
Do you like his clips?

Silverchair Takes the ARIAS!
Silverchair won five ARIAS (the Australian Grammy) on Sunday for its new album Young Modern, including the Album of the Year award. After opening the awards with a performance, the band proceeded to set a new record for the most career ARIAS won, according to a press release.
Does anyone else remember when these guys first came out? I went to see them as a kid and had the biggest crush on Daniel Johns, who I think was about 17 at the time.

Lucky Husband!
Lead singer of Lucky Boys Confusion, Stubhy Pandav, was married September 29 to a 25-year-old brunette named Jillian LeCompte.
I'm not so sure about Stubhy's hairstyle of choice.
But I LOVE the garter picture! Is that a rock and roll wedding or what? Note the white fishnet stockings on the bride.
LBC's bassist, Jason Schultejann, stood up for the wedding.
Lucky Boys Confusion has a few upcoming shows scheduled in the Chicagoland area. Including two days of their annual concert Songs From A Scene at the end of December.

Album Alert!
Wow two in one day! Looks like October 30 is a pretty big day for rock music because Say No More (currently on tour with Sound the Alarm) is also releasing their album What You Thought You Knew today (tomorrow if you're in the states, today in The Netherlands)! If you want a preview of their album you can listen to one of its songs "Love and Let Love" at the band's myspace page.

For anyone who hasn't yet heard, alternative rock band Eve 6, that won everyone's hearts in the 90's with its single "Inside Out," has gotten back together. Two of the members had been making music under the name "The Sugi Tap." According to myspace.com/Eve6, though, The Sugi Tap has been abandoned and Eve 6 will reunite with two of the original members.
This is especially exciting for me because I have been lamenting the fact that I have never seen Eve 6 perform live for quite some time, and now is my chance! They are playing a few shows in Los Angeles before hopefully starting a full tour, too bad I am in The Netherlands and won't be able to see them until I get back!

Defending, but Laughing at Indie Music
Say Anything's new two-disc album In Defense of the Genre is now out and available for purchase!
Is it just me or does Say Anything, despite making great music, always seem to be sort of laughing at themselves? The album seems like a more subtle version of Bob Dylan's outward snickering on the original recording of "All I Really Want To Do." Anyway, I have been listening to "Spores" and "About Falling" on repeat these past few days. Here are some lyrics from those songs that I find especially attention-getting...
Spores: "You know I still know how to fuck your eyes crossed"
About Falling: "And I don't really even care if I'm alone now/ And I don't really give a damn about falling in love/ My body burning by my heavy heart of stone now./ And I don't really give a damn about falling in love."
