Tara McPherson! She actually is a musician, but that isn't why I want to talk about her. She is one of my favorite artists, and is deeply immersed in the counterculture. Producing not only paintings, but also designing concert posters (like the ones below). She is based out of New York, so East Coasters have the best chance at seeing an exhibition of hers.
